103rd Chinmaya Jayanthi celebrations
The 103rd Chinmaya Jayanthi Celebrations were held with great devotional fervour on 8th May 2019, Wednesday. The venue was Chinmayam Hall, Chinmaya College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Layam Road, Tripunithura.
Professor K S Indu, former Syndicate member, M.G University, Kottayam and HOD, Department of English, D B College, Thalayolapparambu, was the Chief Guest. Smt. Priya C Pillai, Principal, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tripunithura, welcomed the gathering. Dr. M N Radhakrishnan Nair, Principal, Chinmaya college of Arts, Commerce and Science, Tripunithura delivered the presidential address. Sri. V N Venugopal, Senior Trustee CMECT (GC) also graced the occasion and spoke about the commitment towards society. The celebration featured a host of programmes, presented by the students which included group dance and instrumental music based on the theme of Swatchata and Seva. Group chanting and prayers were conducted followed by Bhajans sung by the school choir. Mr. Rajesh Kumar (HOD, Department of Malayalam, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tripunithura) spoke on the life and teachings of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda. A short film based on Swamiji’s message about ‘Clean India’ enlightened the audience. As a part of the Seva activities bed sheets were donated to the Tripunithura Taluk Government Hospital. The programme which started at 9 a.m., concluded at 12.30 p.m. with the vote of thanks which was delivered by Smt Suchitra C, Vice Principal, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tripunithura.
